A friend of mine has an 8 yr old nephew who is really a clepto. HELP

this 8 yr old child has a seekness of getting things not his own. And just last week, his aunt recovered a 1,000 peso from him found under the tree digged a half feet.. And not only that this child is very professional in making lies just to cover up his mistakes.. He is really a clepto, he admitted that when he wants something, he cant control himself of doing so even if it is not for him.. We are very concern to this child cuz at a very young age he suffered a lot of pain becuz of his being clepto. he is too young what more if goes older? Would ou know the cause, cure and possible approach to help this child?

being a kleptomaniac is having a mental health illness. there are 2 possible treatments on kleptomania. behavior modification therapy & family therapy. behavior modification-the use of basic learning techniques such as conditioning biofeedback, reinforcement, or aversion therapy to alter human behavior. family therapy-form of psychothrapy that involves all the members of a nuclear or extended family. it can be conducted by a pair or team therapists. medications for klepto are FLUOXETINE, FLUVOXAMINE, PAROXETINE, SERTRALINE, LITHIUM, TRAZODONE & VALPROATE. you may check it at answers.com for assurance.
