Our IIT and IIM are internationally recognised as centers of excellence, but India has miserably failed to provide basic education to million children. The quality of education provided in most of the government schools as a national disgrace. High dropout rates show that a complete overhaul is needed. An enormous amount of human potential is going waste in the process. The government must allocate at least 7% of the Gross Domestic Product for this sector and give tax sops to the private sector to provide quality primary education at affordable rates. It must enforce the Right to Education and set out a time bound action plan to achieve universal education
