Women weaker/lower than men? Never.

Ive again been surprised by fellow brothers of my faith claiming that women are inferior in our religion, because they bleed which means a sign of weakness, because they have to give birth thus because they are weaker. What the Fu*k, You say? So do I. To imagine a woman every period manages to go to work, take care of her family, teach her children, even though she is bleeding and unwell, she goes on with her life. That shows just the opposite, that a woman has strenght. Now childbirth=weakness? Unless a man has ever felt what it is like to carry a sack of rice in front of him for months, have a melon come out from his nether regions, endure 6-40 hours of pain to give birth, I cant believe any man would be so ignorant as to claim a woman is weak. Now religion says that she is weak because of it? Think again. In Islam, a woman´s pain and suffering is aknowledge by god, and by the prophet. . A woman´s dedication to domestic life is equivalent to the glory of a fighter returning from a war. · When a woman is pregnant with a child, all the angels will make Istighfar (repentance) on her behalf. God will, for each day of her pregnancy, write for her 1000 good deeds and erase from her 1000 bad deeds. . A breastfeeding woman gets one good for each drop of milk that is fed to the child. .When a husband comes home full of worries and the wife extends warm welcome to him and consoles him; she receives the reward of half a spiritual/physical struggle (jihad) .A woman, who is deprived of sleep owing to her child crying at night, receives the reward of freeing 20 slaves .A chaste woman who is mindful of namaaz and roza, also makes khidmat for her husband, for her all the 8 doors of jannat are opened . She may enter from whichever doors she likes. · When a pregnant woman starts to feel the pain from contractions, God will write in her records as someone who is doing a spiritual or physical struggle in his path (jihad). · When a woman becomes pregnant by her husband, she obtains the reward of a person engaging in fasting for Allah SWT and a person spending the night in ibaadah (worship). · A woman from the time of pregnancy until childbirth and weaning the baby, is like the Mujahid (someone fighting in the path of Allah, swa) who is stationed on the frontiers of the Islamic land. If she dies during this period, she dies the death of a shahid (martyr). · Two raka'at (bows) salaat performed by a pregnant woman is better than 80 raka'at salaat performed by others. · A woman who is pregnant gets the reward of fasting during the day and of doing ibaadah (worship) during the nights. · A woman who gives birth gets the reward of 70 years of salaat (prayer) and fasting. For each vein that feels pain, God gives her the reward of one accepted hajj (Pilgrimage to Makkah). · If the woman dies within 40 days of giving birth, she will die as a shahid (matyr) and get access to heaven, regardless of her past. .A woman that dies in her virginity or during her pregnancy or at the time of birth or thereafter (in nifaas) will attain the rank of a martyr .When her labour pains commences, the inhabitants of the earth and the sky are unaware of the stores of comfort that are prepared for her. When she delivers and breast feeds her child, then she will be granted a reword for every gulp of milk, if she had to remain awake during the night for the sake of the child, she will receive the reword of emancipating (freeing) seventy slaves in the path of God. Now, if God and the prophet ackowledge over and over the greatness of a woman´s everyday life and shows how highly rewarded she will be, who are we men to claim they are weaker than us? My apologies for the harsh words, but being the son of a single mother, I have seen first hand just how strong a woman can be.

That man you were talking to obviously does not know anything about our faith. Muslimahs are very highly revered in Islam, as you kindly posted down above and as shown in the Quran and Hadith. It is always the men in Islam who always put the women down and disrespect us. It is not Islam that does that. That is also the reason why the all-knowing Allah has to put all this down in writing so that all Muslims may know the truth. But I always say.. it is also the responsibility of every Muslimah to know her rights in Islam, which is many, and not let the Muslim man, be it her father, her brother or even her husband tell her otherwise :) InsyAllah.

Religions have been subjegating women in the name of God for quite some time. It is not that God says that women are less but the leaders of the church always seem to be men and deciding that men are better than women. I think the ERA was defeated because of christian women who believe they have to obey men.

I donot think there is much to add to what you have already said. No women are certainly no weaker than men. And I really do not believe my fellow Muslims when they say women are weaker actually mean women are weaker physically. Women are equal to men physically in fact. The reason the Quran has said men are stronger then women is actually to point out that men has more responsibilities in a Muslim Society. A Muslim woman has the right to DEMAND food, shelter and all her necesseties from her men, be it her father, brother or husband. Men are made responsible infact, to provide their women with all their needs.

I really like the way you express yourself, you always manage to get the point across. Well according to me no one is more stronger than the other. Without each other both men and women are incomplete and hence doom of a specie called human. As long as all of us recognizes this fact the balance will remain. as long as people like yourself, with independent thinking power are alive no harm can be done. Weak are those who proclaim other weak to feel better about themselves, threatened are those who dont respect the existence of others. For centuries the so called wisemen and the keepers of faith have twisted and turned the words of GOD for their own benefit. For men have always known deep down inside that without WOMEN they would not exist.

I don't really have anything to add, all has been said either by you or the people that responded to your post. But I want to thank you for this discussion. I really admire the way you help people understand this religion a bit more, because there is such misinformation and sometimes even by people that follow your faith. Thanks.

Huh .. You`re so right .. And i`m amazed that a man thinks as you do .. Us women have actually more things to do .. to care for .. and to know .. than you men . We get to struggle with our selves since we`re teenagers .. because .. as you said .. month by month .. there are those days we hate even to think about .. but yet .. no men treats us better .. or helps us .. just because we`re bleeding .. or not feeling good at all .. And so so many other things .. there are women that are pregnant .. and still go to work .. just because they want to provide their baby the security of tomorrow .. Women who give up their own lives .. to take care of their family .. who forget about themselves .. and live for the other ones .. So i think we should get more respect .. and less discrimination .. because if a man can do something .. a woman can do it better .. she just needs to be accepted ..
