I love fried rice, my favorite is bacon fried rice and it is so simple. I usualy cook extra rice whenever I have it with a meal so I have some ready to go for this but you can use fresh as well. 2 c calrose rice (prepared as per instructions by manufaturer) 1 lb bacon, diced into bits 4 green onions 2 eggs 4 cloves garlic, crushed 1/4 cup soy sauce 2-3 tbsp teriyaki sauce (or your fav oriental sauce) Cook bacon til nice and crisp, add garlic and cook til soft, add eggs and scramble til done then add cooked rice, soy and teriyaki sauce. Saute til rice is hot then top with green onion. Easy simple and delicious. You can also substitute pork or chicken for the bacon. When I do that I add a little sesame oil because you arent getting the bacon fat. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do !

Fried rice makes for one yummy side dish or even meal in general I find! I don't make it as often as I'd like.. But I know that when I have made it in the past the one I have cooked has been quite delicious! I included below the recipe that I have made in the past & hope to make more after I have read this discussion. haha. I hope if you end up deciding to try this rice that you like it as much as I do, as well as the people around our household do such as my other half. Thanks for allowing me to share! xx "The Classic: Chicken Fried Rice." Ingredients are as follows: - 4 cups of cooked rice - 2 eggs (more only if desired) - 8 ounces of cooked chicken, chopped - 1/2 of a cup of green peas - 1 green onion, diced - 1 medium onion, diced (optional) - Soya sauce - Oyster sauce - Seasonings (add according to taste) - Salt & Pepper to taste - Oil of course for stir frying Directions are as follows: - Firstly beat the eggs very lightly with spoon or even chop sticks doesn't matter. Then add a dash of salt, as well as a bit of oyster sauce IF desired. - Then chop the chicken that you have, as well as dice the onion (if using), along with the green onion. - Then heat your wok or skillet, then add the oil. When the oil is all ready, pour about 1/2 of the egg mixture into the wok & then cook this over medium heat. Turning over once. Cook the other half you have exactly the same. Then cut the egg in to little thin strips & save it for later. - Then stir fry the onion on high heat for a few moments (really watch it or they will burn), then remove & set it aside. Do the same also for the green peas. - After this then add the oil, but turn the heat to medium & stir fry the rice. After this add the soy sauce, the salt along with the pepper, & also the oyster sauce. - Then afterwards add the chicken, along with the onion, & the green peas & combine thoroughly. - When you are serving the chicken fried rice, serve it with the strips of egg on top. But also the green onions as a garnish. You can on the other hand mix the green onion, as well as the egg in with the other ingredients if desired as well though. Serve & ENJOY this yummy dish! . .

Combine eggs, onions, rice, and meat. Stir in soy sauce until color of rice is uniform. Stir in peas. Heat only until warm. here is another recipe Fried Rice This is a fairly easy recipe for fried rice, yet it tastes really good. Good recipe to impress your loved ones. This is my favorite recipe for fried rice, especially when I am in a hurry, and not really in an 'all-day-in-the-kitchen' cooking mood Note: This is not a chinese fried rice which is usually more moist and can be eaten by itself. This is more of an Indian, or Sri lankan fried rice that is usually dry and is eaten with curries. I thought I should explain since some of you might be expecting more of a 'chinese' kind of a fried rice 2 cups basmati rice 3 tablespoons canola oil 1/2 medium carrot, grated 1/2 medium onion, thinly sliced 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced 1/2 teaspoon turmeric (just for the coloring) 1 egg 1 teaspoon chili powder 2 teaspoons salt In a medium pot, fry the onions and the garlic in the oil till golden brown. Add the grated carrot and fry for about 3 minutes. Add the chilli powder, turmeric, salt, and egg and stir for another minute. Stir in the rice. Stir the mixture 2-3 minutes until the rice is properly mixed with the rest of the ingredients. Pour 3 cups of water and stir well. Let it cook uncovered until the water boils. Lower the heat and cover the pot. Let it cook till all the water dissapears from the bottom of pan. (till you think the rice is cooked, usually it takes about 15 minutes). Serve hot with your favorite curry or as a side dish. hope you liked it

i cook fried rice by putting garlic on it, and egg too. sometimes with bacon bits or hotdog bits, it depends on what flavor i like. and you should try eating fried rice with fried fish too.
