I recently joined a new company. the first day after formalities were completed I was introduced to one of my trainers. She showed me a place to sit and gave me some forms to fill for my pc and stuff. Thats it!! It was as if they had all together forgotten about me. Luckily I have a couple of friends in other departments. I made some friends with them and communicated with them. There is a recreation room where we can play pool. Due to that i made some more friends but from different departments. Noone from my department has yet bothered to introduce me to their team . I took initiative and met up with my main trainer. Thats it. Everyone knows that a new guy has joined. But there has been no communication whatsoever from my dept. Not even things like whos my trainer, which team i am in, an overview of my work, when would my training start noyhing at all. I dont know why is this happening. I am not an introvert as I have made friends i all departments except mine. i dont know any one from my dept. Do you think their behaviour is right with a new person. I dont know how to interact with them. I have to stick to my job for atleast a year and a half at any cost due to the bond I have signed. Please advice

Hi, at the top of the discussion you said that they introduced you to one of your trainers so if I were you I would speak to them to see what is happening and what they are expecting you to do. It may be a case that they are testing you for initiative or just a case of them being too busy to introduce you properly. I wouldn't just sit there and wait for them to come to me though! Hope all goes well.

I did I got to know them because I took the initiative. They seem least bothered. Not even a glance at me. Busy among themselves and their work. its as if I am not welcome there.
