How does PayPal work?

India

For banks, we issue checks or DDs in which amount is clearly written. So the banks verify that the said amount is withdrawn. But how does an online bank work, for instance PayPal? If I want to withdraw some money to give to an online site, I give my paypal address..... then? How would I forbid the site to take more money than I had intended to? Can somebody help me please??

The Online site to which you owe money will send you their invoice or bill with a CC to paypal. In turn paypal will ask your approval, if you approve only paypal will pay your seller. Hence you will have control on your transfers and withdrawals.
