I read in a NewsMax magazine a couple of months ago that the baby bed matresses are bad for babies. It is said to affect the neurological developement of baby boys and make them have low sperm count and smaller male organs. I was wondering if anyone had read this . I guess it is good that my son does not use his baby bed and never has.

I've researched this before, it's hard to get an unbiased view though, that goes the same with any kind of parenting stuff such as vaccinations. here's an article http://www.naturepedic.com/research/fiveproblems.php the thing that scares me is the fire retardant stuff. My son sometimes would nap in a crib, but really in my house the crib is a glorified changing table lol.

How can a mattress affect a genetic growth pattern? Some common sense would cause you to take a moment and ponder who commissioned this study and what was the purpose. Not familiar with NewsMax magazine and so cannot estimate their purpose to published a sensatinal story like this. You have more to worry about from the vaccines that any mattress. Hope this puts your mind at ease! Hug the baby for me!!
