Are you "addicted" to scalding hot showers and baths?

I just can't take a warm bath. It has to be so hot that I have trouble sinking down into it! And I will be beat red from head to toe when I get out. Now, I know that's not good for the hair or skin, but are there any physical effects of it? I mean, does it cause health problems? I have really poor circulation and I'm anemic and my toenails like kind of come off on their own. My man seems to think that this could be a part of the reason some of these things are happening. What have you been taught or told about it?

Your man could be right. I suggest you surf the net for medical advice, or see your doctor. What you describe is unnatural.

Lol no I just like them warm. If I have them hot then I can't enjoy them lol. I prefer them just right so that I can enjoy the Shower and I do spend a long time under it, lol. In the Summer when it is really warm I prefer them cool. It is lovely to stand under a cool Shower when you are to hot.

Maybe it is the reason. Why a need to have it so hot?? Are you trying to cook yourself?

Stephanie, I have really poor circulation, too, and I take really hot baths, but I'd never linked the two. I don't have any problems with anemia and my toenails are fine. I've been taking really hot baths for years and years. I really do think that my poor circulation is just inherited. I honestly don't think that it has anything to do with the hot baths that I take - and yes, I do almost always have the water so hot that it's hard to sit down in it, although I try to cool it off first so that I can sit down easier, then get it really hot once I get used to it, lol. I really need those hot baths in the winter just to warm up, as our house gets extremely cold.

Well, it can be good and bad. I know that since I have Lyme it is a good way to kill some of the bacteria in my body, as long as I don't stay in too long when it is buring hot. I love hot baths and showers too. It does a lot of good things for your skin by ridding of the toxins in your system. Just make sure you put lotion on afterwards
