Hmm.. this question makes me think. I pray often enough, I'd like to think, but what I always do is.. I don't know what else to call it, but talk to God. I ask him questions in my head, talk to him, ask him about mundane and profound things. I talk to him the way I talk to a friend, and whenever I do something wrong, I say silently, "I'm so sorry Lord.." Many times when I'm really happy, like when I the wind is really cool on a humid day, or when I see smiling people around me, I go, "Thank you very much, God, for all these beauty around me." I still do pray "formally" - when I wake up, when I eat, when I have major decisions to think about, and before I sleep. Other times I talk to him.^^

I am a Catholic school teacher and we pray each day to God for many things. I was always taught that you should thank God as soon as you wake up and thank him for letting you wake safely and ask him to help you through the day. I myself, still have a hard time doing that, and often find myself mostly praying when disaster strikes. That is awful I have to say. Why do we pray mostly when things go wrong? We should be praying for the thanks of health and love that we receive each day.
