Hands What do they mean to you?

Hands - Meanings?

I know we all need our hands for physical needs. This question is does some-one's hand make a difference to you in a person's appearance. My hands are one of my small vanities I like to keep them smooth and groomed. They can be used gently, threateningly, comfortingly, add to a conversation. I actually dated some-one ,only once ,because their hands repulsed me. Has there ever been a time when hands have played a role in your life. Can they affect what you think or feel about someone?

Well, dirty hands with muck under the nails, tends to make me think they are hard workers along with tough skin on the palms. I kind of think they should feel proud and they don't bother me. That's really the only thing I have ever noticed.

It's funny you ask, my own hands are dry and my nails are bitten. But on a guy (of course I'm married now), what I always noticed first, after eyes, were the hands. I always loved long, artistic hands, such as musicians often have. I'm going to check out that one poster's palmistry site, just out of curiosity.

I don't think I would judge people by their hands unless they are dirty. I too keep my hands well grommed because I am a musician. I have to keep my nails trimmed and I wear a very light shade of pink nail varnish on them. I think I pay more attention to how my hands look more than I do to my make up.

I can imagine as a musician how important your hands look.

I love beautiful hands. It's the first thing I notice about a person. Long artist's hands have always fascinatd me. I once went to a Joan Baez concert and spent the whole time mesmerized by her hands. They were so beautiful. As for the grooming, it doesn't bother me so much if a person's hands look as if they've done a little work. In fact, for a guy, that can be a plus. On women, I hate manicured long red finger nails. They always seem sinister to me.

Siniser long red nails...that happens to be oldest memory I have. I wa sstill sleeping in a cot so I must have been very young and I have this indelible memory of a hand with long red nails coming towards. Years later I was told it was real as my mother's best friend was very proud of her long red nails.

Hands are a big part of my life. Dirty nails don't bother me. Hands and nails can be washed. Also dirty hand can sometimes mean a hard working person that does physical labour. But hands are used for jestering to express things, hands can wrap presents for ones birthday, thay can bring you a hot cup of tea to warm a person up. How you use your hands or what you do with your hands shows the type of person you are. They are used in writing for communication, or also to hold a phone.

Of course we do need our hands, yes someone's hands do make a difference to me when I meet a person especially for the first time, hands are very important and when greeting a person it is nice to have a good handshake not a sloppy one that make you feel uncomfortable so this can affect the way I feel about someone.

There are many kinds of hands. Some are like candle, some are crooked, I love to look at the hands to a person, the first time I meet them. The worst mistake I had was when twice my mother in law to be took my hand and examined them. My hands are lazy hand, it is very soft and have not done any hard work. Most often I hold a pen. I do not wash clothes and I do not hold a broom. I think a mother in law will not approve such hands. I was not successful to find a mother in law who would approve - my hands.

I LOVE my hands. For guitar, piano, writing, typing, anything. They rock! I dont know what I would do without them. But I have shorter fingers, that are a little chubby. When I gain weight they get a bit fatter and I hope to make them less like this. But still they look like my toes. They are shorter too. I dont know why but I love my hands & feet. They are cute! My sister once said I have cute little hands and keep little toes *L* I dont really care if a guy I like has certain kinda hands, but hands like me always draw me in. Oh and I have really warm hands usually one of the warmest parts of my body. But NOT sweaty hands thats sad and kinda gross. They get dry often though sadly. I am trying to keep them from doing this!

Hands constantly play a role in my life. Besides the obvious such as being able to pick up things (books) and being able to type and use the computer, my hands are very important to me because I play piano and I draw. I've been playing piano for most of my life and without my hands, I cannot touch the piano ever again. Same with art, without my hands I can't ever draw or paint ever again. When I look at someone's hands it helps me determine what kind of person they are. For a man, if they have big strong hands with long fingers, it helps bring a sense of "security" when you look at it. As for a girl's hands, if they are well groomed, small and tiny, you sort of also get an image that the girl is very well groomed and fine, like a porcelein doll. In a sense a person's hands almost represents the person itself.

Oh i can so relate, hands are very important. as if they appear unclean you presume one is dirty or you wonder just what those hands have been up to. i once dated man who had disgusting cuticles theyreached halfway down the nail, i did encourage him to push them back but he claimed it hurt to much....men. they were also rough hands especially when he massaged me it scratched. i feel a person is judged firstly on apperance it is inevitable when you first meet someone u can only judge them on appearance and make critical thoughts on their personality based on the way they present themselves. if they look dirty you automatically presume they dont care what they look like or they have a demanding physically job ect.

My hands are very important to me as I am learning to play guitar and piano, and of course type a lot being a blogger and general internet addict, so I would be up the creek without a paddle if I lost my hands. My nails are strong and I've always like to have them long but you can't if you play the guitar so I've had to cut them off recently :(

My husband's right hand played a big part in our lives five years ago. It was smashed in a machine at work and will never be the same. I really don't notice that the tip of his ring finger is now amputated. when I do happen to really look at it, it does not repulse me at all. It reminds me of how much of a hard worker my husband is. It also reminds me of the tough times we have made it through. I wish he didn't have constant pain from his injury though.

I am a firm beliver in keeping your hands clean and your nails groomed. Your nails don't have to be polished but they do need to be filed and clean. Nothing disgust me more than dirty nails.

Their hands is always something I have noticed on men. I like artist's or computer programmers who have long fingers. Luckily I married a computer programmer who has beautiful hands with long fingers.
