We started out with one cat 3 years ago.. and like lays potato chips I guess you can't have just one. Meeca was our first, we got her from a cat house in the summer when she was a kitten. Shes a calico, so shes very prissy and princess-like, very dominant and she is mine to a "T". Then October a year later came Nemo, a fuzzy moldy flea bitten little feller that my dad found in someones car engine. So off to the vet we went to get him checked out, then mom cleaned him every couple of hours for a few days.. Meeca, of course hated him. Now, 2 years later, he is 23 pounds of fat and fur. He's a big boy. The summer after Nemo moved in, there was a stray that had been hit by a car and dropped off at our house. We didn't plan on keeping her, we planned to nurse her back to health and find her a home. By November it was getting cold and we moved her inside. Her name became Dory. Last summer we ended up with 3 pregnant strays outside. (Notice a trend here?) They all had kittens within a few weeks of each other. One had her litter on the porch, one in the garage, and one in the barn. We found homes for 2 of the garage ones, 2 of the porch ones, and there was an attack in the barn, maybe dogs or a coyote and all but the runt was killed in that litter. My dad brought the runt down to stay with another mom on the porch... and by October she had moved in with us. Her name became Itty Bitty Kitty. Shes still pretty small but shes cute as all get out, and she is so playful and ornery that she certainly makes the household entertained. So in almost 4 years we have 4 cats.. you can never have just one.

Aw, you sound like a good cat mom. I love the names of your babies. :) I guess cats are like potato chips. I have one but if I had the room I'd totally get more!! Your baby is cute!

I'd have more too if I had the space, time and if the hubby would allow it. I'm not going to push it though. I'm luck to have the one I do! :-)

No you can never have just one. We're down to two and that's the least we've had in years. I'm just waiting for the next one to find us. We're like you, we don't have to do anything but wait. LOL Wow, that Nemo is a BIG fellow. My Humphrey (Avatar Cat) weighs almost 18 pounds and I thought he was big. Also, Mecca is a cute little trick.

You are right about this you can never have just one. I told myself 3 was the limit, but low and behold we have seven cats and right now we have 4 babies on top of that. Anyone beat that?

I only wanted one but ended up with 2, tabitha and Gizmo. tabitha I got when she was about 8 weeks old she was covered in fleas and had ear mites but the cats protection league round the corner took care of that for me. She soon grew up to be a spoiled little terror who thinks she runs the show and claws you when you don't give her what she wants. Gizmo I got about 6 months later people think the 2 are related as they are both long haired tabby cats. She came to me accidentally as a guy upstairs from me bought her for a guy across the road who had already got a cat so didn't want her after all. I'm glad I kept her however as she's very affectionate and loving and it wouldn't be the same without her.
