External hard drive?

I’m a photographer and I need to make sure ALL of my photo’s are backed up. I would like an external hard drive but I was wondering is it possible to get software or something that will automatically back up files stored in a certain folder? If it is what is it called and how much would it cost?

External hard drive is good idea but it is best if you back up it in both DVD and external hard drive. I have exprience of my hard drive crashed 2 times and I lost allot of my data. So please backup regularly into DVD and not just hard drive.

no, if your computer crash your external drive will not be affected . Window or Operating System crashing will only affect "C:" . If you want to be cautious then backup into DVD(s) as well .

You could just store them on DVD's, they hold lots of pictures. But really I'd say just look for a good external hard drive. Just check around for sales. One of my friends got a 100 GB external hard drive for like $50, which more than doubled his available memory. I personally own one myself just for my music and I definitely think it's worth the investment.

Copy them all to a DVD. It will save space on your computer.
