with identity theft on the rise, how many people have a shredder to destroy their unwanted or not needed papers.

I've gone thru 3 shredders in 4 yrs. now. lol 1st one was just a small personal-sized one, 2nd was a used one my former boss gave me, and now I'm on my 3rd shredder that I'm sure will be history by next year. I shred anything/everything with any of my familys' personal info on it. If it's really alot, I just take it out back and use it to start a huge bonfire.

I am on machine number 3 too, I use it alot. The present one I have has been really taking a beating and it's still going strong, it's a ROYAL I got at RadioShack.

I do not have a shredder but I rip everything important up into small pieces before throwing it away.

I use a shredder for just about everything that I need to get rid of. Any mail that comes with my name and address, especially pre-approved credit card offers, go to the shredder immediately. Rather than wonder if something could be a threat or not, it's easier to just shred everything.

I don't have a shredder but I tear up the unwanted papers that have account numbers or personal information into little pieces.

Good, people will do anything these days to try and rob your info. It's so sad people are like this. Thanks.

Hi there howard96h, I have a shredder and I use it faithfully. I usually keep papers and mail that I need to shred in a bag for a few weeks and then one weekend I just shred it all. People do not realize how important this is. People go through you garbage, take out the credit card applications we all get and they use them to steal your identity. Me, I will always shred, although it is a shame that we have to resort to this method to keep ourselves straight.

Oh yes, we shred anything that has any personal information on it. We also shred those darned credit card applications that come in the mail. It is better to be safe than sorry!

I usually just tear my information on my bills because I often forget to buy a shredder. I'm glad that I finally got a shredder and I loved it! It would make me more secure on my identity.

Yes, I shred all offers I get in the mail with any of my information on it. There are many people that all they do is go around and look in the garbage to see if they can get peoples information. I also shred my store receipts because a scam that people do is, they find your receipt say from the pharmacy, say you bought 6 bars of soap, they will go to the same store with the receipt from the garbage, take an empty bag with them and put (from the store shelf) in 6 new bars of the same soap you bought, then they go to the cshier and say, I want to return this for a cash refund. So I shred the store receipts too. The crooks think of everything.

I have a shredder. I tend to shred alot of things. I swear every week we must get atleast 3 or 4 letters from different mortgage companies wanting to know if we want to refinance our house or take out a loan of some sort. I always shred that kind of junk mail. I'll shred anything that has our name and address on it, my husband thinks I go a bit overboard but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
