Chinese new year had always been the happy festival season for the Chinese. When I was a kid, I received ang pow (red little paper envelope) from the elders who had married. It's a blessing and good wishes from them. It contains some cash inside and it serves as a decent income for the kids during Chinese New Year LoL. During the first few days, we usually take leave and relax ourselves while enjoying the festival. Usually we visit our relatives and friends, and gambling while gathering.

Yeah, I know this is the Chinese year of Pig. I don't know many people does not like pigs. Many of my Muslim friends definitely don't. Also I think according Chinese there are 12 different years, I was born in the year of tiger, I think.
