Do you believe everything that you read / hear?

I've noticed that a lot of people here start discussions about things that seem very odd to me. I know folks want to start discussions and sometimes have problems coming up with a topic, but some of them seem pretty off the wall. I saw a question last week about a mom wanting to know if it was ok that her 5 month old baby couldn't WALK yet. I didn't respond to it, and it's been bugging me ever since. Would you come here to ask about something like that? Or would you look at actual parenting info to know how kids develop?

Some people just like other people's opinions, it makes them feel better about their own opinion. It is not all about current events, it is about chatting, gossiping, and opinions. I think the opinions given are not the gospel, but they are fun to read.

Certainly I would first conduct my own research before discussing it here, atleast to know a bit so I wouldn't more look like an ignorant. I know the discussion you were talking about, I didn't respond to for two reasons. 1) I don't have kids yet and, 2) I know that kids couldn't walk for that certain age. I guess she also needs to think twice before opening up something for the public, I think her baby's bot a robot for her to be able to walk at around 5 months..

I think it depends on the education of the person and where they were raised in the world, but I also think that it is ignorance and some people just really do not know. For me, I always look at the facts to parenting. If I don't know something, I usually look it up or ask other people if I can't find the information that I am looking for. It all depends on who you are, what you would like to discuss and what answers you are looking for. I believe that, for me, it's just best to stick to the facts and post them on here.
