I was just at the grocery store looking at tabloids as my husband was checking out. Do you think it's wrong the way American's gobble up 'Angelina's Loss' and 'Anna Nicole Smith's shocking death'? I remember being a little girl at my grandma's salon reading STAR magazine while she cut hair. Back then it was all about Princess Diana and the worst dressed of the week... now it's Paris Hilton, crotch shots, and who has what eating disorder. How did ths get so out of hand, and why are we so obsessed? I personally feel a little wrong reading about 'Angelina's loss' because, although I'm curious I also feel a little sick that she's being followed around by photographer's when she's grieving her dead mother. Are we a sick culture? I posted earlier on Britney Spears and her downward spiral, and newly bald head... are we are voyeurs creating this sort of tragedy? Is it true that the nature of the observed is changed by the presence of the observer? What exactly keeps us looking towards the 'stars'?

What I find ridiculous is that when I turn on the news, most of it is about celebrities, not the war, the world-it's about Britney's bald head, Anna's body, so and so's trial, etc. I can't get away from it! It's becoming a huge industry, I think it's disguisting but yet it's all that's on tv, the newspaper, and magazines.

It IS disgusting... what's so disturbing to me is that it seems to be getting worse and worse... You hear celebrities say all the time that they can never get any privacy, which I feel is a basic human right. I mean, regular 'stalkers' would be thrown in jail for following people around, but paparazzi are twenty times worse and follow them absolutely everywhere. Don't celebrities have rights too?

I think they are real dangerous, everytime I see Paris or Britney getting into the car, they are stopping traffic by blocking the roads to take pictures. I'd be mad as a driver too if I came across that. Thankfully I live in a small town, our biggest star is Patrick Duffey lol.

i think alot of people look to clebs and most of the time we look up to them because they are on a pedastal. when we see news of deaths or eating disorders or divorces, we tend to jump on them because it proves tehy are human and not as god-like as we think. i do feel guilty reading about celebs losing family members though. that is something that should be more rpivate. i hate seeing that one photos of angelina on the phone crying. it is just so devistating ya know?

You would think there would be a line that was respected and not crossed... just because she's a 'star' doesn't mean she isn't entitled to the same respect and privacy anyone else would be granted at such a time. It IS devestating...
