I think it's not the healer, but the one being healed. I don't know, but I think i believe in the power of the mind. When a person truly believes that he/she is going to get well, he/she wills herself to survive or get over her condition, hence the person gets well. I have learned in the Catholic school while we were learning the parables that Christ was able to heal the sick because they have FAITH. It's just like saying that it's not Him but the person's faith which healed him/her. Christ was made instrument (but of course the highest level of healer because it's to be revealed later that He's the Son of God). Thus, perhaps the healers could be instruments (I'm not referring to fake ones, of course -- haha) and the healed actually healed themselves.

its true there are fake ones. money making scams. but ive seen things that actually happen as a sign of faith and miracles. god will delliver his power if we believe. the faith is not the agent but the key to open the power of healing-which comes from the divine intervention to our material-human affairs.

There are many phenomena in this world that just cannot be explained. I alsoo believe the gift of healing and that everybody has the ability to do healing...with a simple touch of a caring hand, one can heal and even comfort an ailing or broken heart. Prayers can do wonders too. If you would go scientific, it may be the result of suggestion of a strong mind. One actually has the ability to realize what one percieves to be if one just believes with one's whole being that it is to be.

If ever there is someone gifted in healing, it should be similar to the gift given to the early apostles. Everyone is healed and are not selective of who they want to heal whether believers or non believers. I have yet to see someone who can exercise this kind of gift. Some so called "healers" today would not pass this criteria. I pity those people who are really sick and desperately want to be healed and the healers who failed to heal them even blame them for their little or lack of faith. For this reason, it is very difficult to believe that there is a gift of healing today. That being said, I do not dismiss the idea that God may heal people in answer to their prayers for His own good reason. This is the real sense to the gift of healing. A gift to the person who is sick. Some illnesses can be psychosomatic in nature and can be healed without the use of medicines but just merely through human touch and assurance that results to the person's peace of mind.

I dont think anyone can just touch someone and magically make them all better. Prayer, no matter who does it, often helps..In my opinion. Some people do have those powers, but they are rare.
