how true is it that the north pole is melting due to global warming and that the water level will rise submerging other parts of the world?

there is no way of knowing unless you have access to all kinds of technology first hand. But I am the kind of person who usually takes stuff on face value so I believe in the phenomena of global warming, therefor it follows that there will be rising water levels etc.
