Hi Lardiel, Nice to visit with you again. I'm sorry to hear about your accident, and the ensuing migraines. Did you ever have migraines prior to the accident? Migraine is a classification of a particular type of headache. So, if they're truly migraines or cluster headaches, then futher medical attention is suggested. As for just plain 'terrible, nasty headaches' after a major physical trauma -- perhaps a little personal experience might offer some insight. In 1993 I was also involved in an auto accident. I was rear-ended, and a brain injury, TMJ, as well as cervical damage were the result. It took a little over a year of concentrated effort to stimulate new nerve passage transmission, so that I could think, remember, act as I had prior to the accident. (It was terribly embarassing to not remember how to do simple things like open a door handle. Ugghhh!) The cervical damage was not permanent, and was the reason for the headaches I was getting. My neck (C-1 through C-6 vertebrae) were damaged in the accident, which caused the bones in my skull to shift. The occipitals, the axis, and the head plates all shifted. With the help of some really good medical professionals, I'm nearly good as new. Aside from the regular doctors, my chiropractor and accupuncturist were invaluable. 'Course my attorney was a big help as well. I don't say that facetiously ... she specialized in personal injury. So she was very helpful in assisting me to identify new quirks that were unexplainable to me, but were clearly the result of trauma as had been reported by her other clients and their physicians. Lastly, TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint). This is a very common result of physical trauma. In the simplest terms, the jawbone and the connecting tissue that links the jaw to the skull get knocked out of whack. Essentially what happens is the jaw doesn't connect quite right with the skull, thereby causing stress on the jaw and plates of the skull. And yes, it can cause crippling headaches. If you have any additional questions about this, don't hesitate to ask. I hope this helps you figure out where to begin your recovery from the accident. Wishing you the best-
