i had severe case of psoriasis when i was in my teenage years too. my forehead was thickened, my whole body was almost covered with this skin condition. i have tried several treatments from different dermatologist then the last one i consulted told me that i need to get a biopsy and I did. Result says that my condition is psoriasis and there is no specific cure for the problem. further, my doctor told me to avoid the factors that triggers it like stress, problems, allergenic foods such as yellow finned fish, chicken products, seafoods, eggplant etc.I also noticed that too much sun exposure, and some beauty products can also trigger psoriasis (based on my experience only) My doctor also told me there is no use in trying to hard in curing these condition with cortisone products etc. it can only help relieve the itchiness and everything but it will keep coming back. the best way is to eat healthy. at that time, i see to it i have cucumber in my meals, less meat products as i have read in some books too much meat can also cause allergic reactions. once in a while i eat meat but i prefer beef rather pork or chicken (especially not the skin). After few months my skin looked better. when i stepped college, i still have psoriasis attacks but unlike before its fewer and spefically located only in my arm, neck or behind the ears. until now, i try to be very careful not get so stressed especially with problems as i have already that its the no.1 cause of my condition. whenever i have serious problems that i can't freely discuss with other people, my allergies starts to appear. Another thing is that i go slow with eating chicken cause its the 2nd common reason that triggers my psoriasis. and last but not the least, the 2 most important things that help me from suffering this condition is keeping CLARITIN tablet handy all the time and applying POND's vitamin cream on affected areas. CLARITIN is an antihistamine. its used to prevents the allergy from getting worse. as soon as you feel the itch, take one tablet immediately. before when my case was severe, i take about 2x a day together with other medications recommended by my doctor to make those marks disappear. now that im rarely attacked, taking 1-2 tablets should do as needed only and i feel better. About the POND's cream, i know it sounds crazy but it's true... it did cure my forehead which at that time was turning into different color and was very thick and itchy (it can't describe it well... but surely its very ugly) i don't even want to see my face on the mirror. but now, all those ugly sights of my forehead disappered. i have fairer and smooth skin now. when i started using it, at first, it has a slight tingling effect which you feel like you want to scratch yur skin, sometimes the affected part becomes watery or reddish and thickened, do not be tempted to scratch it... its part of the healing effect. after awhile you will feel thatyour skin is dry, and you might feel a little stretch on the affected area. effects cannont be seen at once. you'll have to wait about 2-3 weeks to see good results. its important to stay away from perspiring too much especially the affected part and avoid too much sun exposure. POND's cream can also serve as your protection from UV rays. Based on my experience, i prefer not to put many stuffs on my skin especially during the presence of psoriasis. I do away with accesories like fancy earrings, bracelets, watches, necklace), i seldom use lotions and scents as it irritates my skin.since then, i am very selective with the personal products i use. it has to be dermatologist tested, must be mild especially in soaps. And oh before i forget, using germicidal soaps can worsen the condition or putting something w/ menthol on affected parts. I also put mild creams like pond's or other moisturizers with spf 16 or more to protect me from the heat of the sun. too much sun exposure creates rashes on my face. when i used scents, i prefer to put it on my clothes not directly on my skin r place it on skin where its not too sensitive. i hope this info helps...

I have been using some herbal meds to help with the symptoms. Milk Thistle, and Evening Primerose Oil. The milk thistle helps to improve liver function, and the primrose oil helps with scaling, also improves the arthritis associated with the psoriasis and improves cholosterol. They have helped keep the scaling to a minimum and also has helped to improve some of the redness. They come in capsules and be found at any organic grocery, here in Raleigh, we have a Whole Foods Market that sells it. You can also order them online, but i'm not comfortable with ordering meds online. I also use lots of thick lotions to help soften the scales, and long hot baths.

Thank you cheryl. The only things that work for me are tropical sunshine and Skin-Cap spray, which is extremely expensive!

It is a really bad skin condition where your skin replaces itself way to fast and the skin cells pile on top of each other.

Psoriasis is a skin disease, which is caused by large scale shedding or reproduction of the skin. It can be caused by bad eating habits, depresssion or tension in the the mind of a person, sudden climate change etc, some time it is hereditary.

I am also having psoriasis for more than 15 years. I should say that psoriasis disease in more concerned with earting habits, our lifesytle and the mental status of a person. Modern medicines have little curing effect for psoriais, a better alternative is ayurveda. But if we go for ayurveda it will take time to cure, at least a year. A persons entire lifestyle will have to be changed, he will have to go back to natue. Other wise one can opt for Home Medicines, it will also take some time to get cured but it is effective. Please avoid non-veg foods, try to have food products made of wheat rather than other grains, dont use spicy foods, keep your mind always cool and calm.

Hi Louithe20th, Get in contact with siamconnections@gmail.com They are selling a remedy from Thailand that is - according to them - on a 100% natural basis. However it did cure me, my wife and two of our friends. Most incredible stuff I ever came across after trying each and every thing for 32 yrs to no avail. Good luck!
