Mother / Daughter Album

I plan on starting a mother daughter album, for my mom for either mothers day or her birthday (which fall in the same week). I was planning on using one of those small albums, I think they are 8 x 8 albums. Each page would have facts about our relationship, or memories I have of her, and a picture. I was even going to leave a little space on every other page, for her to do her own journaling, or ad her own photos. Has anyone else ever made a mother/daughter album? or made an album for their mother? How did it turn out and was it enjoyed?

What a perfect gift idea! Your mom is absolutely going to love this!! I have made a 5x7 album for my mom but it's not complete. I make a page and put into it for her every other month or so. She loves looking at it. I think that she'll treasure this gift forever and so will your mother. It's so thoughtful for you to do this for her! Good luck! And if you need any help be sure to ask!

I get confused on the sizes of the albums...i think the book i'm working with is a 5 x 7 and not an 8 x8 . I never know what size i'm working with unless it's an 8 x 11 or a 12 x 12 other than that i'm so clueless. =) I bought the album yesterday at homesense, now I just have to get started!

I love your idea! What mom wouldn't want this for a gift. I have done a few albums that are for gifts usually it is for my mother-in-law I do a book of the things her and the kids went and did all year long. So she has a little collection of A Year with Grandma albums going. I used a Memories kit that came with the ablum, paper and embellishments this year for her book. I really liked the way all the papers went together throughout the whole book.

I like this idea a lot, too! Today is a good day for picking up scrapbooking ideas on Mylot. I don't know if I have time for this one for mothers day this year, but maybe next year. I'd have to find all the photos too - some of which she has - without tipping her off to the surprise.

i know! finding the photos is hard, that's why I figured if I can't find all the photos I need, that I would leave some spaces and either she or I can put them in at a later time.

That's such a great idea. I made my mom a scrapbook last year for her birthday.. It was all about her 3 kids and 4 grandsons.. She loved it.. That was the first scrapbook I did, now I am doing my own, and soon will be doing one for my sister for her wedding... It's relaxing and you can do almost anything that's creative..
