I went to see "Ghost Rider" tonight rated PG 13 for scary stuff! I saw at least 4 little kids like 2 or 4 years old in there. I couldnt believe it.
The movie was filled with stuff even *I* might get nightmares from. And I wasnt a little kid! I think the movie could have easily been rated "R" like Constatine was!
Why would a parent bring a little kid THAT little to the movie? The little boy next to me got freaked out on one of the previews! The mom was like "I'm sorry, I forgot to cover your eyes" Eyes? Even more so the sounds were freaky too! I couldnt believe the movie, and I felt BAD for the kids! Hello good luck tonight!
Sorry just ranting a little. Its just hard to believe you wouldnt think to get a babysitter or something for such a young child. I mean todays movies TELL why they are rated PG-13 or R or PG for! Check it first DUH!

I can't help myself responding to this post even though this is written 6 years ago already. Well, I have a 18 months old baby now and I am thinking of bringing her to see a movie co's I know she will appreciate it co's she loves watching children videos already.
I like this movie that is on the theater right now but I keep myself from going there co's it's PG-13 and there is no way that they would allow me to get inside with an 18 mos old with me.

I myself have experienced this same thing, parents taking children who are obviously too young into a movie that is not appropriate. I personally want to questions these peoples parenting skills and ask them what else they do give trauma to their children. I think it is sad when a parent will not give up the type of movie that they want to see in order to see something that would be appropriate for children.
My experience was in the movie We Were Soldiers, which is even R RATED. There was a 9 year old girl and her sister was maybe 6 years old, they sat about 5 rows in front of me and I could see them covering their heads the whole time. I was actually more upset by the fact that these children were exposed to the movie than by the movie itself, which by the way is one of the goriest war movies I have ever seen.

Maybe the parents weren’t expecting that the movie will be that bad or scary since it did come from a comic. And maybe It's just their excuse to watch the movie and not to get a baby sitter for that. Some parents may think that the child still has no concept of what the movie was about so they just think that It's ok for them to watch it. Or maybe the parents, who brought the kids along, didn’t trust their child in the care of a baby sitter. Maybe for them, it was an opportunity to bond… duh…Well whatever their reasons are, we can't do anything about it because they’re the parents and It's their decision. =)
