create a local website

I am an Engineering student in a University in India. I want to create a local website which can be available to all the sudents of my Univ. through WLAN or LAN. Can I do that through my laptop.

if ur connected to the lan then u can. all u have to do is to run a webserver on ur laptop and host a site on thi server then anyone can access. u can download easyphp or something like that.it contains apache webserver,php parser and also mysql server.

Doesn't your university provide some form of intranet? I'd speak to your administrator, personally.
