A garden normally close to the house used to raise herbs and vegetables for cooking purposes is reffered as kitchen garden.
Do u have enough place to practice Kitchen gardening & Do u have that?
Which r herbs or vegetables...u r having!
Or u have only flowering/leafy plants in ur garden?

I got impatient this year so I started some cillantro in my window while it's still cold. I hope it grows correctly. But my mom and I used to have a small garden with carrots and potatos and squash and cucumbers, but she moved and I've buried pets there so I really don't think that spot is suitable now :) I'm going to go back and forth to my aunt's this year and we're going to have a lot of things in the garden at her house. i am going to have a potted herb garden at home. i love gardening and this is my first year at it alone, wish my seedlings luck!!

yeah shilp we do have a garden my father in law has planted almost all the winter vegetables there; mustard, garlic, onion, spinach, coriander, radish, turnip, tomato, he has even seeded lady's finger, tomato and brinjal over there, and we do have some flowering plants as well

Yes we are having a kitchen garden and grow a lot of vegetables for our daily consumption. One gets fresh food free from pesticides and that too at fractional cost.

We have a small garden where we grow tomatoes, peppers, and then every year we grow random things to fill the extra space. Last year we grew pumpkins and onions. This year I think we are going to try watermellon, and peas. We are tyiing to find thngs we will use to help keep our food costs down.
We try to put a small border of pretty flowers in the front of our garden so it looks nice. We live on a corner lot and have lots of traffic drive by.
I love my garden so much. In my next home we will have large garden so I can grow corn. You need to grow a lot of corn to get good ears.

Actually, we have several gardens. We saved and looked for years before buying the place we have now.
I have a small garden for herbs and spices. Not much in it yet. Rosemary, thyme, and I think the parsley is coming back. I'm sure that I'll have dill weed coming up soon.
I have two flower gardens in the front. One for perennials like tulips and one for annuals. The annual one is more my kids, where the perennial is mine.
We have a strawberry garden started. It started out elsewhere, but it's taking over that area, so we've started giving them their own space.
We have an area for the melons, squashes and cucumbers. I haven't had much luck here yet. We got one little cucumber last year.
We have a large vegetable garden. Here we have the strawberries that are taking over and are slowly getting moved. We plant corn, tomatos, bell peppers, peas, bush beans, onions, lettuce... and whatever else I decide to try. Last year I tried potatos. I did okay with those, but not well.
These gardens take a lot of work. Not just the gardens themselves, but when fall comes, we spend a great deal of time freezing and canning our produce. This saves a bundle in food costs, but it is a LOT of work.
