Fairytale Love - Love can endure and become your Happily Ever After
There is no right or wrong way to propose to someone. You need to figure out what will work for the 2 of you. You could ask her at a comedy club, you could write the proposal out in rose petals on the bed, maybe you could write her a romantic poem and pour your heart into it, you could do sky writing, or hire a singing telegram or plant flowers to spell out the question as a unique way to pop the all important question and then wait for them to bloom. At this stage, you should know this woman better than anyone else and no matter how you ask, she will say YES. Take your time, my guess is that your laughter is your way of deaing with the stress and your possible insecurities about marriage. Don't be embarrassed, be self assured that you are making the right choice and that this is the one woman you want to spend the remainder of your life with as a married man. Good Luck!

here's a sweet way to do it... send rosesto her work place addressed to her... but but write a small note on the card saying "I was having troubles saying it but..." and make sure the ring is in there(the envelope)... just the ring and the card...that is close to how my friend asked his fiancee and it was soo cute... took a boquet pf red pink and white roses and put the ring around two of the stems she had found and went into tears and said yes... needless to say it was a 'KODAK moment'...

That is so sweet you want to find a way to do it right. My hubby picked me up from work, tossed the ring box in my lap and said "Don't you think it's time we do this?" We lived together for about 4 years at that time, had kids, etc..but still! If I were you I'd wait until you're both comfy at home and pop the question. Our neighbor took out a billboard on the route his wife takes home from work, she was shocked and it wa definately memorable!
