LAZY SUNDAY AFTERNOON - What a lovely way to spend a Sunday

February 18, 2007 3:12pm CST
I have just spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon. I managed to get a lie in this morning, and a leisurely breakfast too. My lovely partner cleaned up the kitchen and did the housework while I was able to sit with my feet up reading a book and relaxing. This afternoon some good friends came to visit, bringing with them a bottle of wine and a lot of amusing gossip and company. I have been thoroughly lazy and self-indulgent today and really enjoyed the whole experience. It made me wonder, though, when was the last time I was actually able to relax and take it easy? Do we make time in our busy lives to actually sit and relax? Are we always so busy working that we have no time for ourselves anymore? And if you do get the time and the chance, how do you relax?

That sounds devine. I am glad you had a nice relaxing day. I try to keep every Sunday to relax as that is the only day that my husband doesn't got to work. He doesn't bring breakfast in bed to me, as I am sometimes up before him, and he wouldn't dream of doing the housework. He does however, ask me what I would like to do for the day. To-day we went for a drive in the country and stopped at a country pub for dinner. We then drove to a shopping centre and took a look around the shops - I didn't see anything that I wanted to buy. This evening we sat and watched a dvd and then got some fish and chips for supper. I rarely cook on Sundays except when we have visitors.
