How did you make the switch?

For those of you who have had to, at one point or another, switch your baby from breastmilk to formula, how did you do it? Cold turkey? Did you mix the two? Was there a period of time when your baby resisted or did he/she not care? My daughter is 4 months old and I'm having a hard time pumping enough breastmilk for her. My supply seems to be lessening and it's getting to be very stressful for me so I wanted to supplement 1 or 2 bottles per day with formula for awhile. Unfortunately, my baby does not like formula and wants nothing to do with it. First I tried Similac and it smelled horrible! She spit it out and screamed (I don't blame her). Then someone suggested I try Nestle Supreme Good Start, which definately smells a lot better, but she still wont eat it. She makes faces and spits it back out. So can I mix formula and breastmilk until she accepts the formula by itself? Is that okay?
