Did you and your spouse/partner agree on your kids names?

It amazes me when parents are in total agreement when it comes to naming their kids. Me and my hubby went down to the wire before we could come into agreement on our daughter's name. Did you and you spouse compromise, use family names or what?

After 5 boys we were just glad to find any name that either one of us liked.

We chose a family name for her first name and had her middle name picked out but as my dh was trying to figure out how he wanted to spell it he came across another name he just loved. I liked the new name and we went with it. So we did compromise.

yes, my husband and i agreed on our kids' names. their first and second names are initials of me and husband's first names. and the names of our 3 kids are all inter-linked, like, one would immediately realize that they're siblings.

Well, since it has been tradition in BOTH our famiies to have names that start with the letter "R", it was easier....but it did get down to the wire a bit for us when our first son was born. Husband wanted to name our son after him, but I did NOT like his name! Hehehe. So we put all our suggestions in a bowl, and we picked one. That settled our slight disagreement over names.

My husband and I agreed on naming our daughter Rylee. Her middle name is Rae which is also his sister and aunts middle name. We agreed that there were just certain names we didn't want to name her (like ex relationships) but other than that we are both pretty easy going so it wasn't hard to agree.

We couldn't agree at all, lol I wanted old Irish names He didn't. One thing I didn't want was a family name as in our family they seemed to use the same ones generation after generation(?), and his family pretty much did the same thing. But we compromised a bit ( I won lol), his problem initially was how is family would feel about our child's names (and we don't see them anyhow).

Yes my wife and I agreed to our son's name, Kal-El. Ever since I was a teenager I always wanted to have a son to name Kal-El and my wife totally agreed with this.

Yes we agreed. We agreed when I told him what we would name them. He did not argue with me because I knew what names I wanted. I guess he knows how stubborn I can be. Usually he just says "yes dear" because he knows he cant win lol

When we found out that we were having twins, I decided to name one of them and my wife the other. We actually came into total agreement with the names themselves as well. Naming children is definitely a job in itself because you want to choose something that is meaningful and that suites the family. Using family names is a wonderful way to do it as well.
