If you are capable of budgeting or managing your money well, credit card shopping isn't all bad. I use mine for emergencies (like unexpected vet bills or car repairs) and I never use it to dine-out. Too many people think of credit cards are "free money", forgetting that interest adds up quickly. My question to myself whenever I am planning a credit card purchase is: "if I had the cash, would I buy it?" If the answer is yes, I do, and then usually I go home and transfer the cash from my bank accout to the card.

Hi weasel sponge, I think you have a good rule to thumb there in how you manage your credit card purchase.
