Who are You???? What to do???

Am i just getting old or has this happened to you? I'm out in public and someone comes up and starts talking to me and says it has been awhile since they have seen me! Now i don't have a clue who this person is, and can't remember for the life of me! Do i continue to smile and pretend or do i ask them who they are? To many times i have just smiled and pretended, but it gets annoying cause i can't remember, and then i think about it all day, and try and figure out who it was.
