Do you remember when you could smoke in the hospital?

i have never senn some one smok in a hospital even many years ago!

The last time I remember was when I had my second son. Everybody smoked in the ward but one of the doctors used to come into the ward and tell the patients to stop smoking as it was bad for the babies. When my daughter had her baby, there was a small smoking room for patients only. Now there is no smoking allowed in any public buildings and it is even banned in company cars.

I do remember and man it seems so wrong now! Now no one can smoke near hospital entrances, but i am all for this because anything that deters me from smoking is welcome by me. I want to quit smoking and that is a bit of help for me. Take care Bkfuels.

I was in the hospital when I was sixteen many years ago. I had surgery and was pretty much out of it for five days. After the fifth day I started smoking in the hospital until I was released. When I got out of the hospital, I thought what a fool I was. I had five days of no smoking, I should have quit. I promised myself, if I was ever in that same situation again, I would quit smoking. Well it came eight years ago. I was in the hospital for diebetes. I couldn't smoke for six days. They didn't allow smoking in the hospital this time. When I was released, I never smoked again!

Yes, but that was when hospitals actually cared for their patients comfort, not just being politicaly correct. Thats one of the reasons I wont go to a hospital unless its a true emergency

I don't remember that but I can remember when people could smoke in department stores and in the teacher's lounge in the elementary school building. It seems strange to me that I never thought anything was wrong with smoke pouring out from under that door as us kids walked up the hallway to art class.

well I guess the environment was not that much an issue or the consequences of smoke was not fully aware of
