career switch-shall I study abroad?

India

I am a working professional and have been working for last 7 years. I am really bored with my job, one of the reason being the stagnancy that I would have to face once I rise up the ranks. So I plan to do an MBA. Shall I do it from India (economy is booming, everything seems perfect) or shall I do it from US (they are considered the best in management education, but the economy is very slow). I have a hard time making up my mind. Another thing is that I would be changing my career, so I would like to know different views which would help me in making the right choice. Thanx

It would depend on your budget. Will you be paying for your MBA? Do you have a scholarship, grant or any type of financial support while going to school? or will you have to work? If you move to US will you have friends nearby to assist you if you need help? There are many variables to be considered, for instance your age, your marital status, your health, all are important considerations to take into account when you quit a job to study. I have a MS and I got it in USA but I had to work full time while going to school part time.

Well I guess working full time with an MBA is not an option, the studies are so hectic. Yes I do have scholarship offers from some universities. Since I am married I would have other expenses to take care of. No friends for help either. Its the opportunities that attract me to US, but now since India is doing very well and bound to grow even faster, would it be a wiser decision?

Probably wiser to stay in India due to your marital status. You have family and friends in India and obtaining an MBA requires you devote a lot of time to your studies. If you stay in India it would probably be better for your family.
