how to tell male from female?

i have three parakeets and i need to learn how to tell them apart!

if you hold the bird in your hand turn it over. The female bird will have a wider pelvic area, you can tell this with pinky finger, you actually feel the bone on a female is wider.. Color on the peek is a quick tell tale however young birds don't have there colors yet.

i believe that female parakeets have blue around their nose area?
