Ok..am just gonna get a new dog..we've had dogs before, but my mom doesnt allow us to have anymore..It took some time for me to convince her to buy one..My dad seems to be interested in the hound type..lol..and my mom's fine with family dogs..who wont be very naughty..i was just wondering which is the best family dog..that can be tamed well..and be an angel..please dont mistake me..am not favouring dogs..but it took a long time to convince my parents to get a dog..and i've a few considerations to make so that my parents will be happy with the dog too..Actually, both my parents love dogs too, but we've lost a couple of dogs, and they find it too hard to have a loss..and so they dont want any more of it..but now, after some homework..i made them agree!!:)

I have a lab mix who is wonderfully sweet and gentle tempered. I also have a hound (a beagle) and although she is my best friend and companion, I will say do NOT get one unless you can handle the howl. I've grown to love it.
Overall, I would suggest making several trips to the local animal shelter and see what kinds of dogs are available there. I hate that there are so many dogs that need loving homes and people keep paying breeders hundreds of dollars for purebreds. Mutts make great pets! Also, if you do end up looking at the animal shelter, I would suggest getting a younger dog who doesn't have a 'history' yet....you never know with some of the older ones if they've bitten before or have bad habits that can't be broken. I would look for a small to mid-sized sweet tempered mutt. That's how I found my lab mix, Magic Beans, and she's the best dog ever!

My family raises labrador retrievers. They are wonderful dogs! Sometimes though you can get a bad one that is aggressive. It really depends on how you raise on. Overall the labrador is there to please you.
One of my parent's housedog which is a labrador follows them everywhere! He's a few years old and he always has to be with someone. When he was a puppy he had a hard time eating because he hated to eat alone. We had to stand with him...he was such a cute baby. Now when my dad goes outside to feed the other dogs he waits at the door for him and pouts. He is an excellent dog around children. I have nieces and nephews ranging from infant all the way to 4. They love that dog so much and crawl all over him. He just lays there and loves it.
No matter what kind of dog you get, you still gotta be careful because some are born aggressive and a few will bite if they feel threatened. Even if they never bit in their life, if they are scared or get hurt they still could.
