I am the oldest of 6 kids. I was a momma's girl and so is my youngest sister. The other girls are still daddy's girls and my brother has always been glued to my dad. Mixed response, I know. Why do you ask?

Oh, there would really be a mixed response. But generally speaking I just noticed girls mostly tend to be closer to their dads (especially when they're younger) and boys tend to be closer to their moms. Do you think it's got to do with their gender? Does the "opposites attract" theory apply to parent-child relationships?

I think it also has to do with the protective nature of parents. Men in general tend to be more defensive towards their daughters. Their sons are watched, but not coddled to help them grow, mature; whatever the exact reasoning may be. Women are the same.

Its not like that in my family. I come from a family of three girls, I was papa's girl whereas my sisters were mama's girl. Both My Kids are papa's kids, boy and girl. Hence its hard for me to believe the norm of Papa's girl, and Mama's boy. It all depends on how much we spend time with the children I guess.

That is not like that in my family.
My sons are daddy's boys. They want to do everything like their father.
My daughter is mommy's little princess. She tells her dad all the time that she is mommy's girl. That she is going to grow up to be just like mom. Fat and everything.

When I was growing up, I was a daddy's girl, and my sister was probably more attached to my mother. With my children, both are much more attached to me. Not to say they don't love their father, but my daughter is definitely a mommy's girl. My son isn't so much a momma's boy as he is just a lovable boy who cuddles with me cuz he's around me the most.

It is exacaly like that in our family. I have one boy ant two girls. I spend a lot of time with all of them, but my son will sit with me for hours and talk about nothing. If one of my daughters want something and think I will say no they wait until thier dad gets home and ask him.
