What do you think about it? Van Halen changed way of playing rock guitar but I think this is only a commercial action... I know the bassist is not the old bassist but Eddie's son!

I heard that Mike Anthony, the 'old bassist' as you call him (Gee you make it sound like he's an elderly man) is working with Sammy Hagar. I'm really not sure why Sammy Hagar left VanHalen, but he did already have an established career as a solo artist before joining VanHalen. The only thing I heard was that it was amicable, meaning that they were still friends. I also heard, being that VanHalen was not doing anything as a band, Sammy Hagar hired Mike Anthony to be his bassist, & that was why Mike was unable to re-join VahHalen - prior commitments. I agree - in the 1980's, VanHalen did change. That song, "Jump" may have been a big hit for VanHalen, but it was not their normal music. Anyway, David Lee Roth & Sammy Hagar (as well as Gary Sharone) are different people. I'm sure if the roles were reversed (if it was Sammy who started with VanHalen instead of David) we would probably be saying that David was not as good.

eheh you're right, sorry for my bad english, I'm Italian... Mike Anthony is the former bassist! Van Halen changed rock guitar playing way, but I heard Eddie has now a lot of personal problems.
