How much do you spend and let us know what size family that is for. I hate grocery shopping to begin with. Not sure what I hate so much but it's one of those household chores I could do without. I am fortunate though because I'm a stay at home Mom so I can go during the day when it's not busy instead of the crazy weekends. I usually spend about 100.00 for 3 of us. Now last week it was 150.00 but I was out of so much and really let things run down. But that was only a week ago and we need groceries again. My son and I were talking and about 35 dollars of the grocery bill was just beverages alone. Can you believe that????

It's just me and my son. I spend anywhere from 80.00 to 150.00 every 2 weeks....The week in between probably about 40.00. Basically snacks, milk, bread, more beverages....Little odds and ends.. Another good thing reason I don't have to shop alot is because I visit the commensary with a friend. It's sooo much cheaper there than a regular store. Just have to make sure I go after the first or the fifftenth..lol

Yeah that sounds about right. It's those little trips you have to remember too like for a loaf of bread or a bag of milk. I've done two of those already this week.

We are just two adults, I do not go grocery shopping every week, you actually spend more money when you go every week. I usually shop once a month and then I spend on an average of 300. or less.

oh well, for a week, i think 1,000.00 pesos. i do not buy not so important things, i do not spend money for luxury or whatever. i just buy basic, like canned goods, soaps, detergent bars, shampoo, toothpaste and some bread and juices... also cooking oils and kitchen uses.

I can say I have mixed emotion when it comes to grocery shopping the first emotion was excitement and feeling you are one of the richest woman who is very proud to pick what your heart desire for that day alone and the second emotion was when you are in the counter waiting for your turn you really feel worried if your budget is enough lol! As a wife of a seafarer there is a certain allotment for me every end of the month and from that allotment I get my budget for my grocery which is roughly more than $ 120 to $ 150 but I really stick to lesser than $100 if possible because we are only four in the house mom and me and my 3 year old son and his nanny. In our country we have some affordable products but with good quality that's why we spend less compare to you but when it terms to salaries oh boy! we can't compete to that! we spend less because we earn less!

I spend about $170 to $200 per week for groceries. Thats for a family of 3, plus 2 more children 5 nights each fortnight. It also includes dog and cat food, and occasionally bird and fish food. It doesn't include school lunches and the occasional meal out.

We only spend around $40 per week for grocery shopping. That's for me & my husband and food for my 1 year old daugther. I love grocery shopping. It's one of the chores that we do together as a family. But we do it on weekdays, after office because we don't want to do grocery shopping also on busy days like the weekends.

I live with my room mates and we cook our own food. We are 3 in all. Off late my room mates have started dieting so it's fruits for dinner. Fruits are pretty expensive here in Chennai and what really sucks about the fruits here is that it is all artificial stuff :( But on groceries we spend very little - around 80-100 rupees a week. Totally on food, fruits and water, we spend around 500-600 rupees per head per month.

We usually spend about AUD$200-$250. We are a family of five - three teenage sons - but we have at least 6 for dinner every night (twins' best friend) and often the twins' girlfriends too. So anywhere between 6 and 8 for dinner. It gets interesting trying to come up with new cheap meals which everyone will eat (oldest son is a fussot and only likes plain food)

I am with you as I also hate grocery shopping. I have gotten it down to where I usually go on Monday afternoons as there are less people out on that day for some reason. I have a family of 5 and weely grocery bill is anywhere from 80.00-120.00 per week. It usually depends on how many coupons I have and if I am getting all of the big things like laundry soap and toilet paper and shampoo. I try to buy those things in large enough quantities that I only have to do it once a month. I also take all of the coupons I can to cut down on the bill. I can usually save from five to twenty dollars with coupons.

I normally spend around $60.00 per week on groceries, and that is for only two people, there is only me and my husband now to buy for so that is why it is a lot cheaper for us now, but it used to be a lot more than this with 5 children but they have all grown up now and gone to start their own families. Wow you did spend a ot on beverages alone.

My husband and I spend between 80 and 130 dollars a week. I think it's so high because we eat so much fresh fruit and vegetables, and all organic. We do buy expensive cheeses and things, and organic juice, so I think that makes our bill higher. We don't buy a lot of junk food, and we shop bulk... also, no sodas. I imagine our bill would be a lot cheaper if we shopped at a normal grocery store, but I prefer to spend the extra on local items at our co-op. It's insane, though. I love grocery shopping, personally, but i hate thinking as I'm eating something, 'Wow, that apple took me two minutes to eat and cost me $1.50...'

I have to say that I prefer going grocery shopping when my wife is willing to stay home and just makes me a list. We spend less and get it done quicker that way. My wife dosnt drive so I always end up going. We spend around $100 a week for just the two of us.
