About to Loose My Day Job!!!!

People, it was a sad day today for my 18 member team at the office. Earlier, this morning my team leader sent out an email informing us that there will be a meeting for 11.00HRS with the Project Manager who will be visiting the site from head office. Job wise, I work for a Data Management company and my company in turn works for the biggest utility company in the UK. In the weeks leading to todays meeting, the dark cloud has been forming and our future on site became increasingly uncertain. That apart, the employees of our client mounted series of campaigns to bully and victimise my team members even my humble self to no avail. As things did come to a head today, we all stand to loose out in the affairs of things as the process we are working on has been changed considerable by our client. These changes constitutes an issue when it comes to TUPE :Transfer Of Undertakings (Protection of Employment. We may no longer be allowed the first choice to transfer to the new process when a new contractor is awarded the contract. Aparently, we have been handed our formal six (6)weeks notice of termination of contract today. At the expiration of this notice, should the TUPE fail we will be out of job. The question to the house is, should i forget about looking for another day job and concentrate on my web exploits? What chances have i got to survive without savings? Please send in your honest suggestions!!!!

I'm very sorry about your job. I hope it turns out well for you. It's very terrible to lose ones job. As for the issue of concentrating on your web exploits, making a living online is quite difficult, even though there are a lot of self-acclaimed web business gurus. I think a conventional job would be better.

Thanks for the encouraging words and advice. I do really appreciated it, i will be thinking in this direction as i consider my options. Just wondering, are you a GUNNER? Boy, it was heart breaking last night with the lads loosing out to the lack-luster Blues. All the same, the kids are growing into men and we (gunners) will rule again. Gunner4Life!!!
