themselves with a spoon? My son is 9 months old and he does very well with picking food up with his hands and putting it in his mouth. I thought I'd try the spoon with him the other day so I gave him some yogurt. He stuck the spoon in it (with my help) and he put it in his mouth but then he just wants to suck on the spoon and not take it back out of his mouth. And then when I try to take it from him then he gets mad and throws a fit. Should I just keep trying or wait a little longer?

Hi there, I let my kids start eating at around 9 or 10 months. I put a big plastic garbage bag on the floor under the highchair and let them have a ball. It was wonderful to see. They both made big beautiful messes and only got half the food in their bellies. I would then hold the spoon and guide it to their mouths and they loved it.
