Have you ever had white pizza? / myLot

A dear friend of mine taught me to appreciate the art of white pizza. Start with your favorite pizza dough. Instead of spreading tomato sauce on it, spread olive oil and then a layer of heavy whipping cream. Now lay on toppings such as mushroom slices, tomato slices, zucchini slices, peppers, onions, freshly minced garlic. Sprinkle with basil and oregano. Top with plenty of mozzarella or your favorite pizza cheese and bake till crust is brown and cheese is bubbly. Enjoy this with a nice white wine.

I've had white pizza before... Not exactly the same way as you have mentioned though, I have had it with garlic butter instead of sauce and I have had it with ricotta cheese instead of sauce. Both of which are amazing with pineapples!

I love regular pizza with pineapple and bacon (Hawaiin). For sure the white pizza would be awesome that way too.

I tried it with ricotta, zucchini, mushrooms and red bell peppers tonight. It was awesome. I seasoned it and poured on the whipping cream and then topped the whole thing with mozzarella.

Sounds really good except for the whipping cream, I think I'd have cheese instead of cream and you can hold the mushrooms to, not keen on them at all!

Well you know like any other pizza you can put what you want on it and hold what you want. You should try it if you never have. Or make it at home. It's so awesome.

I had a pizza once with the regular tomato sauce but with spinach and ricotta cheese under the mozzarella. That was yummy.

I have never heard of this before. I am not sure if I would like that or not. I know my jusband probably wouldn't. I think I like my pizza with the traditional tomato sauce. Now this would probably be great for those who can't eat or don't like tomato sauce. Thank you for posting this. You never know I might just have to try it one day.

I love white pizza. You can actually get it in different variations, my favorite is to get it with just the oil oil, seasonings, garlic, pepperoni and cheese. Some people like to put tomatoes on it too. You can get it so many different ways, just like normal pizza.. just no sauce basically! It rocks! I agree!

I have not had it or heard of it either, but it does sound interesting. On the heavy whipping cream, do you whip it up first or just pour it on as a liquid? I wonder if you could use cream cheese instead of whipping cream? I might have to toy around with that now..lol

I made mine tonight with homemade crust, and I just drizzled the whipping cream on after using ricotta cheese and veggies with pepperoni. It was awesome.
