I do not remeber the name of it, but it was about a chicken that went around asking ather farm animals to help cut wheat, and all of the things you have to do to make bread.. All of the farm animals would not help her do any of the things that it took to make a loaf of bread... So at the end she went around and askedif any one wanted to help eat it, they all said yes, and she said no... It was the best book ever, but Dr. Suess I never grew out of

I think the chicken one may have been in a richard scarey book. Or at least that's one version of it. For the life of me I can't remember what it was called but it was big and red... lol...

Don't laugh. I loved 'The Little Red Hen' (I belive that was it, she was the one who worked hard while others played so that she would have something to eat in the winter?) My children all love 'If You Give A Mouse A Cookie' and 'The Very Hungary Catepiller' and 'Alexander's Terrible Horrible Nogood Very Bad Day!!' Oh I loooove children's books! I can't wait to be able to read to my new granddaughter..but she lives 4 hours away. She was a little young on her last visit (5 months) but she will be old enough to read to on the next visit!

I was not into reading all that much when I was younger. I liked tom soyer when I got a little older. I liked music more when I was younger. I loved to listen to chubby checker.

I liked "Flat Stanley" and "Island of the Blue Dolpins." My grandpa read them both to me when I was little.

I don't remember most of the books read to me as a child. I do remember when I started reading that I loved reading 'The Bobsey Twins.' That was the first real book I ever read, and I read it many times because I loved it so.

I loved the If You Give A Mouse a Cookie and If You Give a Moose a Muffin books when I was really young. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Hungry Catterpillar, too. Did any of you read the Amelia Bedelia books growing up? While in grade school, I read The Pushcart War, The Phantom Tollbooth and The Cay over and over and over again though. I have always loved to read and am always looking for a good book.

my favorate book was called misty, the true life story about misty the pony, from the tiny island chincoteague. there were a number of books, and my memory is a bit vague here, but this book was red with real photographs of this animal and her three foals.
