Has a family member ever gotten a pet you wish they never had?

Has a family member ever gotten a pet you wished was far, far away? For example your kid bringing back a pet lizard, or so on? How did you react? If they did bring something you didn't like would you let them keep it under strict rules or crush their hearts and have them take it elsewhere? My mom says that if I ever have a pet snake it won't be under her roof however I've already had a pet spider once and she didn't say anything though she really didn't like it| Please give me your opinions on the subject!
