If you were in my place what would you have done?

I got asked to handle children as their parents were having sessions for their spiritual retreat. Not long after I entered the room, the principal came after me and said, "There is a little bit of a problem. I thought you would not be staying here." I felt like a bomb exploded inside me. I said, "okay, if someone will take me home and pick me up." I took my luggage and asked someone to take me back home as I din't have a car. When I got home the principal called me and asked, "would you rather stay here? Because we can provide a room for you." Why didn't she think of that before sending me home? I wanted to tell them, "Go find someone else to handle the children coz I'm not going back" but I held my temper. Nevertheless, to keep my word, I still went and took care of the faculty children. If you were in my place what would you have done?

oooh that would annoy me! Maybe you could have waited for her to get back to you with what she wanted? Im not sure exactly of the circumstances sorry, but I would have made sure before I left that she didnt want me staying there because I know I wouldnt have gone all the way back unless I was being paid and provided for my time. Did she send someone to pick you up again? I hope it all works out for you.

Well, she didn't directly sent me home but of course it was implied that I didn't have a place because of what she said "there's a little bit of a problem..." So intantaneously, my impulse said, "Go home, Jemina. Don't wait for her to say the words. Just retreat gracefully." You're right, I could have argued with her but I chose to withdraw instead coz I'm not a fighter and I'm assertive in nature.

Well, I think you've done the best thing. Anyways, it would be better, in my own opinion, to hold one's temper all the time. I don't think the principal really intended to become so mean. If I were on your place, I would talk to her and ask her to explain and I would also inform her of the inconvenience it caused me but I'd say it in a tactful manner. In such way, I could be able to get her side, thus, preventing any clashes to happen between us.

Yea, you're right. She might not have intended to be mean which made me realize that no matter how perfect we want us to be things could go wrong. No one ins perfect. Well, the issue of transporting back and forth was not my concern at all because I know they needed me there so for sure they would provide a ride. Actually, I told her that if someone could pick me up and take me home then it would be okay. And she said she would ask someone. which she did.
