Changing names of cities

Madras is Chennai and Bombay is Mumbai, this changing of the names, is it a right thing at all, how much money of government is involved.

Well I feel its better to change for once and then rest in peace or else these political parties aint gonna keep shut and that is gonna cause lot of bandhs and that i feel is much higher loss to the Indian economy than that caused by changing names.
