Manytimes I ask my self, how can I guide my child grow on the path that I wanted her to take when I spent most of the time at work and not beside her. Am I working to invest for her future but not building her future???

This always is the dilemma of working mothers. I too am a working mother and I would say I feel guilty sometimes leaving my children to househelps to attend to their needs and at times discipline which is unavoidable. But knowing the economic situation in my country, both parents have to work to make both ends meet, thus sacrificing other things like taking care and tending to the children. I agree however, that it's how you manage your time with the children to compensate for lost times. During weekends I make it a point to spend quality time with the children like eating outside, watching good tv shows, telling stories and eating together during supper which is the only meal we can eat together during working days. It's also important for me to communicate with them, asking them how their day has been, always reminding and assisting them of their assignments and school works, and teaching them good values through stories. Most of all I make them understand why their parents have to work.

being a working mother will be fulfilling and not guilt ridden task as long as you know how to practice time management. . working time is also school time for our kid / kids no problem in that area. but once we get home, we should spend quality time with them. find out how's school, assist in their homework and be conscious of their needs. . same is true for mothers whose child is below school age . . . if you can afford, hire a helper to look after the kid while you're out there working. .

Im a working mom too. But i know i still have time for my kids to communicate, playing, teaching good values & taking care of them before i went to work! Every sunday, i spent my time and keep the bonding as mother & sons!I guess, we both are investing and building their future at the same time! I know how rough the situations we been through, and we dont have choice but to work hard to provide their needs & to bestow a good education for their better & brighter future!
