Some researchers have found out that marriage tends to improve the health of husbands and wives. On average, they seem to be healthier than their single friends...
Studies show that marriage can lower stress levels and reduce heart failure rates. Many factors seem to be helping such as a better financial picture (i.e. expenses reduced for living costs),the social and emtional support a wife and husband can bring to each other, and so on. Still it remains unclear which one of these reasons or may be what combination of those can have some benefits to the healh. There is one exception though in this theory; obesity, where another study reports that married men are more likely to become obese than unmarried men...
