Why do you smoke?

"Cigarrete smoking is dangerous to your health". You can always find the warning label in every cigarrete packs. However, eventhough smokers know about the risks of smoking, they smoke and continue to smoke. As proven, smoking causes cancer,impotency,stress,high blood as to name a few.
For smokers out there, I want to know your reasons for smoking. How long have you been smoking? Why do you continue to smoke?

i smoke because i want to an its addictive.an plus everything you eat can cause cancer not only cigeretts an life itself is a risk.an many people who dont smoke gets cancer.i have smoked for 20 years an have tryed to stop 2 times an failed.

Thank you for the reply.Yes, there are many causes of cancer, especially lung cancer but smoking is one of the causes of it. I've heard that it's very hard to quit smoking. I've known a friend who tried to stop smoking but he got sick for days. The attempt discourage him to give a second try to stop. I also know a person who had succeded in quiting and told me that self-discipline really counts.
