I am going to rant for a minute here! I went to drop my son off at school this morning and I was lucky and got a parking place right up front. As I was getting out of the car, a woman pulled up behind me with a car load of kids...no problem...a lot of people pull up horizontal behind people and just let their kids out instead of parking and walking in with them. I got out and walked my son up to the room. I talked to the teacher for at least 3 or 4 minutes and then walked back out. This lady is STILL behind me and she's just gabbing on her cell phone! Her kids are all still in the car waiting. There was a woman beside me in an SUV who had been sitting there waiting for her to move the ENTIRE time I was in the school. This woman got out and knocked on this cell phone lady's window and told her she needed to go. WHAT DID THE CELL PHONE LADY DO? She pulled up just enough for her to back out...she was still RIGHT BEHIND ME! I sat there in my car for a couple minutes. Revved my car a couple times, etc. She's STILL there talking on her phone! I finally honked my horn and stuck my head out my window and looked back at her. She pulls up BARELY enough for me to get out! I mean, I had to back out wiht my head out the window and I squeezed past her bumper by LITERALLY less than an inch! I was SOOO mad! When I left, she was STILL sitting there behind people on the phone! How hard is it to pull into a parking spot if you HAVE to be on the phone??? and, why couldn't she just say "hold on a sec" and let her kids go so she could go??? OOOHHH! I can't stand rude people who pay no attention!

I think it should be a law here that you do nto drive or talk on the cell phone while drivin specially in a school zone. A couple of the local stores i go to here they know me casue been a good customer for years and when there are people in line adn a person is on there cell phone the skip the person on the cell phone and take the next customer, and when the ppl on the cellphone complain they politely say we thought you were busy with an important call and did not want to disturb you but now how may we help you. The rudest thing i seen was last week at the deli a lady was on her phone snapping adn pointing her finger at the girl behind the counter and getting mad at her casue she was getting the wrong stuff and was not fast enough i was starting to laughing the lady on cell phone till she shot me a glance adn i said "If you did not look so funny doing that snappy dance thign of your s i would say you were being rude adn self centered" Well she hung up the phone and ordered her stuff adn left and i then said " see isn't it faster to jsut ask for what you want than snapping at ppl" There were a few laughs adn snickers to that one.

LOL that is TOO funny about that lady at the deli. If I was the girt behind the counter, I think I would have just kept saying, "excuse me" "what did you want", etc until she got the hint. It's funny you stepped up and made your comment. People like that make me so mad. Like she was any better than you or the girl behind the counter or any other person at the store there.

I alwasy try to treat others the way i would liekto be treated and when someone on cell phone in a line adn your turn to be served put phone away or let the people behind you go. Makes the line move faster what a novel concept.

Yes you're right. There's no need of this type of behaviour at all. I don't see that her phone call was that important and if it was, she simply could have parked in a different parking spot where she wasn't blocking all the other vehicles. Really, some people just have no consideration for others.

exactly! no thoughts are consideration for how others are feeling. I wasn't in any hurry, really. but, i know that someone else could have used an up front parking spot, plus who wants to sit there while someone is being inconsiderate?

Oh...people like that make me so angry! People should NOT be allowed to pick up their cell phones when they are behind the wheel of the care! I would have went up to her window and told her to move her dang car out of the way immediately. I was just telling someone else that I have no patience for stupidity.

that's what it is...just stupidity. I mean, I have talked on the phone while driving...I try not to, but sometimes I do...BUT I make sure I pay attention to what is going on around me. i am very mindful of what others are doing and where they are whether I am in the car or on an aisle in Walmart. :)

I get really impatient, especially when people get on the phone and they hold up traffic, they really hold up life, but on the other hand I try to write it off to life keeping you from geting hit by a wrong way driver or something. Venting is good for the soul and it is better done here than getting into a battle with someone.

that is really true...never thought of it that way. maybe if this lady wasn't there being rude, I would have left a little earlier and got hit by a car or something. Nice thought. Thanks for that.

That sounds very frustrating. I can't stand people like that, and I know my parents can't stand them either. They're often complaining about how "slow" some people were when they were shopping and stuff like that. But yeah, they make you wonder what the hell they're thinking. Are they so self-absorbed that they don't notice the people around them? Well, well. I'm glad you came out with your car eventually. Hehe.

haha! yep. i think so, too. very frustrating and a very irritating situation. i hate it when people block my way, too as if they don't see me at all. i hope people are more sensitive nowadays than just being too self centered.

Too bad you didn't do one of two things (or both of them): back up right into her car hard enough for a good bump. Tell her off in no uncertain terms. I'm sure if you'd bumped her, she would have gotten out to give *you* a chewing out. Perfect opportunity to give her a hot lecture on her complete thoughtlessness.

Ooo...I felt like hitting her! But, she had at least three kids in the car that I saw and my car is already a piece of crap. Don't need it to look worse. LOL

that is really annoying... i've met many inconsiderate people as well in my workplace as i work as a cashier and they really make my blood boils... simple thing like holding up the line or jumping up the queue while so many people are waiting in the queue... what i do when that happens is i usually tell them off and let them know directly that they are being inconsiderate with other people... i may even refuse to serve them...

exactly...i am all for cell phones. I have one and I use it more than i probably NEED to, but I am very concious about when and where I use it. I NEVER talk in a restaurant or while I am driving (unless I absolutely have to). If I have to take a call in a restaurant or a place like that, I excuse myself and go outside or to the restroom. I don't understand why people think others should take a step back just so they can talk on the phone.

People like that have no clue. They are so engrossed in their own things that they forget about the fact that the world doesn't revolve around them. You go ahead and rant all you want. It is good to get it out.

People are very rude-- I am certain I would have gotten out - knocked on her window- told her to get the heck out of my way... But then again her kids were in the car. She probably thought she had every right to be there and didn't really care. I've had this happen to me a couple of times and it has always been at school- whether picking up my daughter after practice or picking her up from school.. People are just rude or just plain oblivious to the world!

These type of people who feel so 'entitled' and like the world revolves around them make my blood boil. They are either that incondiserate or that ignorant or both. She either KNEW she was blocking you and didn't care, or was so ignorant that she didn't realize that she was blocking you (unlikely). Here is the kicker, her children are observing all of this, so they are learning to feel entitled and to not worry if you are parked in a manner that others are inconvenienced. Sadly, it is a never-ending cycle.

You are absolutely right about the kids. They were sitting there watching all of this take place..the lady that asked her to move and then me honking and trying my hardest not to bump into her. Just plain rude and inconsiderate.

I hate it when people do dumb stuff like this. I am usually a pretty easy going person but stuff like this makes me mader than anything. They know they are doing it. Sometimes I think they just do it so they can aggervate people.

Well, you have rude and inconsiderate people all over the world, not just where you live, you know. The key is to learn to tolerate them. We cannot wish them away for sure, and we will end up getting ulcers in the stomach if we start raging against each and everyone of them. Even I occasionally give such inconsiderate people a piece of my mind, but it hardly helps any. They are too thick-skinned and thick-headed to even take notice. The best thing in the circumstance is to hum a rhyme or whistle a tune just to prevent yourself from losing your cool and getting out of the scene fast!

People are beomcing increasingluy rude.I think the main reason which is making them behave like this is that they are misusing technology.

And they wonder why people are trying to get laws past that you can get a ticket driving and talking on the cell phone. She was parked and not paying attention. Can you imagine her on the road talking? I say ticket cell phone users if they are driving and talking.
