I think Torrent tracker are the best... you only have to have bittorrent or utorrent or azureus or another similar... Torrent tracker has alot of file and most time is so fast the download... I guess Torrent Reactor is the most popular tracker... http://www.torrentreactor.net/

i download from limewire and have liked it so far. i've used kazaa and blubster in the past but kept getting viruses on my computer, so i stick with limewire now, because i've never had issues since using it

Depends what you are looking for, if its copyrighted stuff i'd suggest you go and buy it, its not fair to the developers that the dont get paid for making the software. Same thing goes for movies and music too.

Have you tried www.download.com ? This is the Gozilla of all download sites. Just run the filter for free software and you are set to go. Tons of useful software there for you to experiment with and use. :)

You can use emule, or if you know which is the software name download it directly by the developers website, so you can read more informations about it
