it says that there are 13 homemakers on mylot. How are you all? Do you all stay at home full time or have you got part time jobs. I am at home for 20 years really. But I did get involved in the early days with the community and was on different committees etc. In 2006 I did a 3 month job with the government. There was a census of the population and I handed out and collected the forms. In October last year there was a follow up survey from the census which got me another 6 weeks work. I did do a party plan job, with children's books. It went well for about 2 years and other book companies had better deals than I had. I am at home full time again now and enjoying the stress free lifestyle.

I am a SAHM. I have one son, 22 months old..so that keeps me pretty busy. I love being home with him..but I am not just a SAHM. I am an Avon Representative with over 100 customers now. I also do service evaluations for companies and phone survey work from home. I teach one day a week during the school year at a local NS (computers). So I guess there is more than just taking care of the home in my description!

gosh you do have alot on. I bet you enjoy them all too. I have started doing farmers accounts mainly from home. sometimes i have to work from the farmers house. I love it and the added bonus is the money. getting paid for something that one likes to do is a great help

I am also an on again off again homemaker. I am currently trying to find a work at home job. That has been quite a challenge. My children are now 11 and 14 and our finances are starting to dip. I maybe have to give up the work at home concept and find a traditional part time job.

maybe dont give up on staying at home and working too soon. I think you have some US sites on this subject. OUr one in ireland/UK is www.iamawahm.com and there are lots of ideas and businesses on this site. There may even be links to US sites. The girl who runs it lived in US for years so has contacts there. SHe may be able to help if you post something or pm. All the best anyway. Enjoy whatever you chose anyway and hope it brings in some decent money for you.

Well unfortuently I'm not a mom nor do I get to stay at home. I work full-time and then come home and work some more. I've pretty much always worked full time. I did for about a year or so go down to part time but moneys too tight so I had to go back to full time.

I've been a stay at home mom for seven years now. In the past I have taken other children into my home and offered day care services so I could help make ends meet. I have recently split up with my husband so now I am going to be re-entering the work force in a few weeks. I'm hoping to be able to work only part time as I will really miss the time with my children but it will all depend on the pay.

My oldest is 18 and I have been off and on stay at home mother. (Dependant on family economy) Luckily the jobs I have had have been very flexible so I never felt like I was giving up too much parenting.

yes any of the jobs that i had didnt take me away for too long and the children were big enough to fend for themselves. They were delighted to have me back full time though. One of them said that it would be better if i worked full time as then they would know when I would be gone whereas with the census, it was very local and I could pop in and out. I am sort of like that too, I like to know the plan of the day, I dont like unexpected happenings although we all have to put up with this and get used to it I suppose.
